Food with flavour from the ground up.
Chinchin Farm is a mixed farming enterprise with a philosophy that begins by looking after the soil and remediating the land. The resulting lush grass and adjoining native forests work in harmony ensuring that everything grown on the farm is enhanced with flavour from the ground up.
Bees
We manage a healthy apiary of European honeybees that thrive on our farmland, especially when the lavender is in flower.
Combined with our carefully selected Australian native bush food plants, the resulting honey is pure, unadulterated and clean - just like nature intended.
Aussie White Sheep
Our growing flock of Aussie White Sheep helps feed the soil to grow our over 10,000 food-grade lavender plants which in turn, along with the native bushland, nourishes the healthy apiary of honey bees.
Our prime lamb has the lovely soft texture and sweet flavour that Australian White is renowned for.
Lavender
Lavandula Augustifolia is a culinary grade of lavender and ours is so good it’s winning awards both in Australia and internationally!
The oil that we produce is sweeter and less astringent than the lavender that we are used to and we use our lavender in various products that you can taste, touch and smell.
Australian Native Bush Foods
Australian native plants are an important element in adding to the diversity of our landscape so we have introduced a number of species that double as sources of essential oils and flavour infusions for use as tisanes and herbs.
Australian Native Thyme
Native Oregano
Lemon Scented Myrtle
Strawberry Gum

We Grow Grass
As a mixed farming enterprise we start by looking after our soil and remediating the land. From our Australian White sheep to our 15,000 lavenders, Australian native bush plants and bees, they all benefit from the improvements we make to the soil. They are all in some way linked to each other, benefitting from co-existing on Chin Chin Farm. And we benefit too, working hard but enjoying the stunning outdoor office we have and enjoying the fruits of our labour. When we purchased the properly, it had not been cared for over many years and its has been incredibly rewarding to see the effort we put in resulting in the forest flourishing and the pastures' increasing diversity.
Our sheep enjoy a scratch behind the ears and our plants and bees are happy.... and so are we.
The Whiteman Family's journey into lavender cultivation began in 2019 when they embraced a treechange and settled in the scenic Macedon Ranges. Since then, their lavender crop has become an integral part of their regenerative farming practices at Chin Chin Farm. In addition to cultivating lavender, the family raises a thriving flock of Australian White Sheep and proudly oversees a small bee apiary, exemplifying their commitment to holistic and sustainable agriculture.
Chin Chin Farm's commitment to sustainable farming practices extends beyond lavender cultivation. Their integration of Australian native plants not only adds depth to their offerings but also contributes to the conservation and appreciation of the unique flora of the region. Bushfoods, such as Australian Native Thyme, Native Oregano, Lemon Scented Myrtle, and Strawberry Gum, have been carefully incorporated into the farm's landscape. These native species not only add to the diversity of the surroundings but also serve as sources of essential oils and flavour infusions. The aromatic qualities of these plants make them ideal for use in tisanes and herbs, providing a unique and distinctly Australian flavour experience.
